Viking raid?

17 July 2019

Regular visitors of technology conferences probably know well what to expect on such events. This year, even they did not predict that Nordea would be represented at one of such conferences by real Vikings😉

This is what happened on June 29th, at the Warsaw Expo XXI Center, where the 13th edition of one of the largest conferences for the Java community in Poland was held. Confitura 2019, which I am referring to, gathered nearly 1,600 participants from all over the country, who wanted to learn more about new technologies and exchange experiences with leaders of the Java community.

As in previous editions, the entry ticket to this conference was a brick supporting a charity organization that could only be purchased through a charitable online platform. This is one of the reasons why Nordea decided to join as a Partner of the event this year.

During the conference, you could meet our team at the Partners’ Hall, make an unforgettable picture with the Vikings, talk to local managers and recruiters about development opportunities in Nordea in Warsaw and Tri-City, and try delicious coffee and lemonade, or fresh cinnamon buns – Swedish kanelbullar.

For all those who decided to leave their data in a special application, we had interesting gifts. The biggest attraction, however, was the competition, in which the participants had to demonstrate exceptional cleverness and speed and arrange the tower of Hanoi, which especially for this event took the form of a 8-bit viking. There were prizes waiting for the winners – electric scooter for the first place and elegant branded suitcases for the second and third place. Congratulations to the winners.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit this conference and meet the Vikings – don’t worry. In September, we are starting with another portion of positive energy and passion – see you all at 4Developers, Scandinavian IT Night and Women in Tech.
