In FRC IT Liquidity Risk & PL Team we are currently building high performance systems to support our business partners in managing and controlling Liquidity Risk and Profit & Loss (PL). Our main business partners and stakeholders in Capital Markets are: Financial & Risk Control (FRC), Application Operations and Infrastructure & Operations (I&O).
We are undertaking a massive transformation and redesign from a batch based PLSQL environment towards a service-oriented approach using loosely coupled Java services, asynchronous communication and resilient design. We use core Java, Spring, JMS, Active Pivot (in-memory OLAP database) and other tools to achieve maximum performance and scalability.
We are looking for a strong Junior Java Developer who is technically passionate, solution-oriented and able to design, develop, test and maintain high quality software.
You will be a part of an Agile development team building an application for monitoring and controlling Liquidity Risk on a daily basis, which in the end contributes to saving capital in the bank. This application consists of backend, which accumulates the market data into OLAP cubes and web-based frontend, which is used for data monitoring and analysis.
We work Agile meaning daily stand-ups and short release cycles. The Product Owner is highly visible and contributes to the teams’ daily progress.
The role is based in Gdańsk.

- Solid Java 8 knowledge
- At least a year of business experience in software development
- Practical SQL experience
- Understanding of TDD methodology and test frameworks
- Familiarity with distributed version control (Git)
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English
- “Hungry learner” approach in daily work
- A master’s degree in engineering, computer science or other relevant background
- If you do not already have good capital markets domain knowledge, we will help you to acquire that within reasonable time.
